READY MIXED CONCRETE PRODUCTION STATIONS
The facilities where the components of ready mixed concrete are stocked, blended under control, production of concrete is carried out and filling transmixers are realised are called Concrete Stations. The concrete stations are divided into two, due to blending types, as wet and dry mixtures; and again into two as per storage formats: type with bunkers or with stars.
READY MIXED CONCRETE PRODUCTION IN WET SYSTEM:
Wet system ready mixed concrete production is carried out in the central mixer of the concrete station and by way of shuffling. The fresh concrete that has been shuffled and prepared in conformity with the standards at the automated stations as per the design prescriptions are transported to the address designated by the customer with the transmixers.
The starting and completing of the shuffling process is carried out in the central mixer of the concrete station. The forced track mixers are generally used for this purpose.
DRY SYSTEM READY MIXED CONCRETE PRODUCTION:
In this method cement, aggregate and/or mineral additives that make concrete are measured in the concrete station and loaded in the transmixers
The blended dry material of concrete are carried to the point of delivery by transmixers. The necessary amount of water and the chemical additives are measured and added to the transmixers and the shuffling is carried out.
The transportation duration of the dry blend material should not exceed 3 hours.
The shuffling time of the material in the transmixers should be at least 5 minutes at the transmixer's shuffling rotation (at least 10 rotations/minute). |
READY MIXED CONCRETE PRODUCTION PROCESS
Ready mixed concrete facilities that are constituted by the measuring and shuffling units for the components quickly produce homogeneous quality concretes controlled by computers as required by the working principles.
To produce concrete with required features :
| Enough material at the convenient standard quality should have been stocked before hand,
The materials of the concrete blend must be accurately measured, The shuffling process must me done properly and for the required period. |
The shuffling period is defined as the time starting with placing all the necessary material into the station mixer and starting shuffling until the shuffling ends.
According to the Turkish Standards, the minimum shuffling period for concrete of 1 m3 or less is at least 45 seconds, and an additional 15 seconds of shuffling period is required for each additional ˝ m3 concrete. However, since the shuffling continues during transportation of wet blend this period can be reduced by half. |
